The Order’s internal war is one of the core events of the Phantom Blade series, and it takes place in the fortieth year of The Order. Zuo Shang worked Soul and Xuan Yu into his design, Mu Tianmiao was killed by a misjudged blow, and The Order was thrown into violent turmoil from the inside.
Background
As The Order grew in power, the contradictions inside it sharpened. Zuo Shang’s hunger for power and Soul’s wish to be free came into conflict. Zuo Shang would not stomach serving under another, and he began to plot his way to the highest power in The Order.
What Happened
Zuo Shang laid his plan carefully and used Xuan Yu’s feeling for Soul to close a snare around them. In the confusion Mu Tianmiao was killed by a misjudged blow, The Order was left without a head, and the internal war broke out in earnest.
Outcome
The internal war left The Order badly weakened and Soul walked away from it, while Zuo Shang seized part of the power in the chaos. The war changed the shape of the Wulin in the Phantom World for good.
